Consultant
Automized helps commercial contractors build digital operations strategies that start with understanding their business first—then selecting the right technology to support it. We're hiring a consultant to work directly with leadership teams at roofing companies, general contractors, and private equity backed acquisition platforms navigating growth and acquisition integration. You'll conduct operational diagnostics, develop implementation roadmaps, and translate complex technical decisions into clear executive recommendations. If you think in workflows and data flows, and you're equally comfortable presenting to a CFO and mapping workflows with seasoned construction superintendents, we should talk.
About the Role
This role requires someone who can diagnose operational problems, develop practical solutions, and communicate recommendations to both executives and front-line staff. You'll start engagements by understanding how work flows through an organization—conducting stakeholder interviews, mapping business processes, facilitating technical analyses, and identifying where breakdowns occur. Then you'll translate those findings into clear strategic recommendations and implementation roadmaps.
What You'll Do
Conduct Digital Operations Assessments
- Lead stakeholder interviews across all organizational levels to understand workflows, pain points, and system usage
- Assess client tech stacks to identify gaps, redundancies, and integration challenges
- Map current-state business processes using BPMN methodology
- Synthesize findings into executive-ready deliverables and detailed documentation
Develop Prioritized Roadmaps and Recommendations
- Build prioritized roadmaps for system remediation, replacement, integration, or enhancement aligned with our digital transformation methodology
- Develop recommendations spanning software selection, analytics solutions, workflow automation, system integrations, and AI opportunities
- Create business cases with ROI analysis to support technology and process improvement investments
- Advise client leadership on fiscal year budgeting for software, implementation, and ongoing support
Guide Clients Through Structured Evaluation and Selection
- Develop clear, prioritized requirements based on operational impact
- Research existing and emerging solutions in the construction technology landscape
- Facilitate evaluation processes from requirements gathering through vendor selection
- Present strategic recommendations to C-suite executives and ownership groups
- Lead alignment sessions with leadership teams to build consensus on direction
- Manage project timelines and deliverable schedules throughout the engagement
Coordinate Successful Implementations
- Define detailed requirements for ERP implementations, integrations, analytics builds, and system configurations
- Coordinate with client stakeholders, software vendors, and implementation partners
- Develop change management materials including training guides, process documentation, and communication plans
- Monitor progress and adjust approach to drive adoption and long-term success
Contribute to Firm Growth
- Mentor business analysts on interview techniques, process mapping, and client communication
- Develop and refine standardized methodologies, templates, and deliverable frameworks
- Support the development of AI agents and internal tools to drive engagement efficiency
- Participate in proposal development and client presentations for new business
- Contribute to case study development and internal knowledge sharing
What We're Looking For

- Communication range: Ability to translate technical concepts for executive audiences and dive into operational details with front-line staff
- Analytical problem-solving: When faced with 'our AP process is broken,' you can systematically determine whether that's a workflow design issue, system limitation, training gap, or organizational problem—and structure your analysis accordingly
- Project execution focus: Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight client timelines
- Collaborative working style: Clear communication, follow-through, and owning your commitments
- Microsoft 365 proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint
